Man Misses RM77.42 Million Jackpot by a Single Number
For most, losing out on a lottery jackpot is common, but few experiences are as bittersweet as missing the grand prize by a single digit. A telecommunications engineer, Chua Kah Wah, recently shared his close encounter with fortune on Facebook, revealing how he narrowly missed the Magnum 4D Jackpot (6/58) prize of RM77.42 million on January 11.
The Near Miss
The winning numbers drawn were 4, 10, 18, 24, 38, and 53. Unfortunately, Chua’s ticket had 34 instead of 38, making him miss the life-changing prize by just one number.
Chua wrote:
“Saw it in the group chat this morning. The second-highest jackpot in history… Looks like it’s going to climb higher. #NotEncouragingGambling.”
Jackpot Pool Grows Even Larger
Since there was no winner for the RM77.42 million prize, the pool has now grown to RM82.75 million, making it the second-highest jackpot in Malaysian history.
- Record-Holder: RM97.75 million in March 2022.
- Current Jackpot: Set to climb further if no winner emerges in the next draw.
