RON97 and Diesel Prices Increase by 5 Sen


Kuala Lumpur, January 15 – The latest weekly fuel prices have been announced, with RON97 and Peninsular diesel seeing a 5 sen increase per liter. Starting January 16 to 22, 2025, the new retail prices are as follows:

  • RON97: RM3.38 per liter
  • Peninsular Diesel: RM3.08 per liter

Meanwhile, the price of RON95 remains unchanged at RM2.05 per liter.


Price Trends

RON97:

  • From December 18, 2024, the price of RON97 steadily rose by 3 sen per week, increasing from RM3.22 to RM3.28.
  • In the past two weeks, prices spiked by 5 sen, reaching RM3.38 per liter.

Diesel:

  • Beginning January 1, 2025, Peninsular diesel saw a 3 sen increase, followed by a 5 sen hike last week, now priced at RM3.08 per liter.

In Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan, diesel prices will remain steady at RM2.15 per liter.


Government Statement

The Ministry of Finance emphasized its commitment to monitoring global crude oil price trends and adjusting fuel prices accordingly to maintain stability.

“The government will continue to monitor market developments and coordinate RON97 and diesel retail prices to support price stability and safeguard the people’s welfare,” the statement read.
